Thirteen-year-old Emma Neibert left her home a little after eight A.M. to go to school, like she did most any other day. The chilly morning air and light snow on the ground made the walk brisk. Once she arrived through the main entrance on Collamer Street, she went to miss Bodey's classroom on the third floor. After starting the school day with a prayer, classes began.

When the bell rang at 9:30, Emma excused herself to go to the washroom in the basement. That’s when her entire life, and the lives of every other person in the Lake View School would forever change.
